The Caesars Entertainment Pet Stay rooms in Vegas

When we think of Atlantic City we think gambling and Jersey Shore in that order. We don’t think dogs (unless we were feeling particularly unkind about Snooki et al). But now we might, because Showboat Atlantic City is striking out and marking its territory as the first dog-friendly casino in town.

The hotel launched its Pet Stay Atlantic City program yesterday. Bring your dog and you’ll be accommodated in its New Orleans Tower with dog treats, mat, food and water bowls, disposable waste bags (ugh) and a duffle bag for you to keep (lest you think it’s all about the dog).

There is also a designated PetStay area in the hotel (as with the fellow pet-friendly Caesars Entertainment properties in Vegas) and guests are provided with walking routes and maps to, uhm, “outdoor relief areas”).

It’s pretty reasonable – two dogs of up to 50 pounds are allowed in your room, at a cost of $40. But - yay for introductory deals - for the first two weeks of the program, it’ll be totally free.

What’s more, the casino is donating $1k to the OC Humane Society in honor of the program’s launch.

Just one problem. You can’t take your dog on the casino floor with you. So no lucky mascots.
