We’ve been so obsessed with the weird shower curtain headboards and the did-they-didn’t-they celeb hookup of W London that our attention has wandered from the The W St. Petersburg recently, but with the Russki hotel nearing completion, we’re swiveling our heads back eastwards.

Last time we checked, the hotel was claiming an opening date of March 1, although it wouldn’t let you stay until April 1. And now, they’ve pushed it back further still: the website is now broadcasting an opening date of April 20.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know quite what to expect when it does, because the Twitter and Facebook pages are mainly concentrating on plugging other Ws, and the hotel’s website still only contains tiny renderings.

The bedrooms look pretty blingksi with gold disco balls (take that, London!) over the pillows and mirrors either facing or beside the beds. From the renderings there will also be a terrace lounge and an almost Jetsons-style Living Room:

A positive sign is that the only picture that shows a real room looks very like the renderings, only with a funkier, distressed-style headboard. So hopefully there will be no nasty surprises. Or peekaboo bathrooms by the looks of things. Praise be!

Plus, we like that they’ve already bought themselves a fly fleet of wheels: four Porsche Panamera 4S and two Cayenne S Hybrids to run guests around in. You can get in on the first night for 9450 rubles ($323), but get your skates on, because it’s a pretty small place – only 137 rooms. And you don’t want someone else to get thir grubby hands on your mirror ball.
