Traditional hotel salons might be as last season as the pixie cut. Following in the steps of The SLS, the W Hollywood just opened its own blowout salon, Blo Blow Dry Bar.

You won't see a single pair of scissors at Blo; the salon only does blowouts. The typical service includes a wash and blowout in about 30 minutes for $33. At that price, we'd be tempted to lazily have someone else do our hair each day we stay at the hotel.

Part of North America's first chain of blowout bars, the W's salon is the 12th location, and it offers a trendy setting, with white, gray, jolts of hot pink and oversized posters of iconic beauties like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.

Blo offers seven blowout styles, from the sexy razor-straight "Executive Sweet" to the rocker-chic-inspired "Sex, Hugs and Rock & Roll." But the most popular is the "Red Carpet," the classic blowout with smooth locks, lots of body and gentle arcs near the neckline.

Aside from blowouts, the salon also offers other services, including updos and deep-conditioning treatments. Guys aren't left out: A bro job—a 20-minute head massage, wash and style—goes for $21.

Appointments are recommended, though walk-ins are accepted. The salon is open daily.

That headline sure grabbed my attention, Juliana! Thanks for the chuckle.  I am staying there in May for two nights.  Should I ask them about this using the headline?  Hope it is a better stay than the one I had last May.  It is quite a scene with the young H'wood glitterati on the weekends (Drai's rooftop).  Never before in one place have I seen so many young, extremely attractive, tragically stupid rich people!
