Get Sweet For Chocolate Lovers Day With Kimpton On Thursday

Since Valentine's Day is over, Kimpton Hotels is shifting it focus from lovers to chocolate lovers. The company will celebrate Chocolate Lovers Day on February 17 with free sweets in hotels all over the country.

So in case you didn't get any chocolate valentines, you can get hopped up on the sweet stuff on our new favorite holiday. Plus, Kimpton's hotel restaurants will keep the sugar high going all month long with chocolatey desserts.

The complimentary chocolates will be offered during Kimpton's usual 5pm lobby wine hour, and all guests and - get this - non-guests are invited to partake. Each hotel's chocolate choices will differ. Chicago's Hotel Allegro will have handmade chocolate marshmallows and pets will get a safe-to-eat heart-shaped carob treat. At Hotel Palomar Philadelphia, sip cherry-chocolate cocktails and munch on chocolate doughnuts, and in Hotel Monaco Alexandria, opt for chocolatinis and mini chocolate-pecan pies.

For those chocoholics who can't make it to the February 17 tastings, check out the restaurant desserts. San Fran's Fifth Floor serves a chocolate mousse bombe with orange crème, hazelnut crunch and mandarins (see above). DC's Poste Moderne Brasserie has chocolate panna cotta with poached Seckel pears and chocolate terrine with kumquat cordial on the menu. Too bad Chocolate Lovers Day can't last all year long.
