The Langham London Keeps Up With The Jones By Opening A Swanky Spa
As the London hotel openings gather speed the oldies need to make sure they’re still in the game. Never one to shy away from renovations the Langham Hotel London knows exactly what to do to make sure it's in prime position. The hotel has just opened a swanky new Chuan Spa, which just so happens to be the first Chuan Spa in Europe. Round of applause please!
There are six private treatment rooms including a Couples Spa Suite, relaxation area, vitality pool, steam room, sauna, mosaic-lined swimming pool and salt cave. But what exactly is a salt cave? Well it's basically a salt sauna with lots of salty air that apparently cleanses and purifies the organs, and let's be honest we all need a good cleansing once in a while.
The treatments have a strong emphasis on Chinese medicine - including moxibustion and cupping - and there's even a Chinese doctor on hand to perform some of them. And although it's not cheap, they're offering a promotional 90 minute massage for £90, and you're not going to do better than £1 a minute in central London.
And it's not just the Langham London, next up is the Langham Xintiandi Shanghai, which also gets its own Chuan Spa this year.
