Andaz Goes Far East With Its First Asian Opening Set For Shanghai
A bed at Andaz WeHo
It’s time to cross the other pond for Andaz, which, not content with conquering America and London, and planning to drape itself over a couple of other continents, has announced plans to open its first hotel in Asia in Shanghai.
It’ll be a swift process: the hotel is scheduled to open this summer.
The hotel will be a 24 story new-build with 307 rooms, situated in the Xintiandi entertainment district of downtown Shanghai, and near the shopping central Huai Hai Zhong Road. There will be 45 suites, as well as a restaurant, brasserie, bar, lounge, spa, pool and meeting space.
There’s no word on exactly where it’ll be, and no mention of it on the Andaz website yet, but hopefully that’ll change as the opening date gets nearer. No word on the prices, either, but don’t expect it to be given away – the Hyatt on the Bund, the cheapest Hyatt in Shanghai, starts at $250.
In the mean time, we’ll add that to the list of forthcoming Andaz properties, which already counts Amsterdam, Delhi, Hawaii, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos.
