Feel that warm ocean

For those of you stuck inside because of Snowmageddon, here's something to fantasize about - the new B Ocean Fort Lauderdale is offering a warm-weather escape for only $149 a night as part of its Snow Day sale.

The hotel only opened on January 24, but TripAdvisor has a couple of reviews up already. All of them give the hotel staff high marks, and one said B Ocean's location across from the beach was convenient (can't see anyone disagreeing with that). Reviewers also gave props to hotel eatery B'stro—a casual spot that serves organic meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner—for having a moderately priced menu, which isn't to be sniffed at when it comes to Fort Lauderdale beachside restaurants.

If you want to test it out yourself and get out of of the blizzard, you can book the Snow Day rate through February 28 for stays through April 15.

And, not that you need much convincing to get up and go to sunny Fort Lauderdale, but all 240 rooms at the beachside hotel look out over the Atlantic Ocean. You know, not mountains of snirt.

Looks real nice, but

The rooms here look really nice and modern, but a little small. I've never been to Fort Lauderdale, but is $149 per night on the budget end of things, or is that pretty standard?

we reckon it's about mid range. by comparison, the W runs at about $250
