Making Last-Minute Plans This New Year's Eve? Here's Where To Party

The champagne is chilled. The DJs are finalizing their playlists. Your sequined outfit is hanging up in your bedroom closet. Now, all you have to do is figure out exactly what you're in the mood for. New Year's Eve is this Saturday night, and though guest lists are filling up quickly, these hotels still have openings. So whether it's a masquerade ball or a tequila tasting or a circus-themed soiree, we guarantee you'll find what you're looking for below.

For people who like to dress up

When The Americano sent us the menu for their new restaurant back in November, we salivated over the "Latin fare with a French flair"-inspired menu (Chile Rellenos, $10; Turbot (flatfish) a la Plancha, $27; Poulet Fermier, $26). Though chef Oliver Reginensi is supposedly moving onto NYC's Le Cirque, he's sticking around long enough to put together a lavish feast for the New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball (above). Choose between a three-course dinner ($95) or a four-course dinner ($200). The first comes with a glass of champagne, the second comes with a whole bottle of Moet a Deux. Take your pick. Afterwards, everyone will take to the lower level for a big ol' dance party.

For star-crossed lovers

Anyone who pays the least bit of attention to back-page horoscopes and zodiac sign mumbo jumbo is going to love this last-minute offer from New York's uptown charmer, The Surrey. In addition to a bottle of champagne, and a hand-crafted room-service item from Cafe Boulud downstairs, the hotel is even throwing in an astrology forecast for the year ahead, which will be left next to your bed at turn down. We predict rates starting at around $400.

For circus-loving football fans

W Scottsdale is throwing a "vintage Cirque Nouveau" affair—which is basically a circus-themed party with sideshow acts, a hall of mirrors, and a midnight fireworks display. An all-inclusive package ($2,012, yikes) provides you with a four-night stay, an open bar (7-9pm), access to the circus party, and two club level tickets to the Fiesta Bowl on January 2.

As you gear up for the big game, which pits the Stanford Cardinals against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, you'll have plenty of time to work through the champagne that comes free with the room.

For shopaholics

If you've yet to catch a glimpse of the 718-pound gingerbread village at Park Hyatt Aviara—and happen to enjoy shopping as much as you enjoy cookie art—then this might be the package for you. Indulging guests in a little me-time during the holidays, this package includes a two-hour consultation with a personal shopper at the Carlsbad Outlets and a"Shopper's Therapy" treatment in the hotel spa. Not to mention your own personal chauffeured Mercedes, which will have you back to the hotel in time for the New Years Eve concert taking place in the lobby.

For locavores

On a more affordable end of the spectrum, Andaz Wall Street's restaurant Wall & Water, which we reviewed in 2010 and found it worthy of the hype, is busy preparing a five-course dinner, including a champagne toast, for only $80. The farm-to-table motif will be continued with a menu that features items like Wild Mushroom Custard, Saffron Risotto with rock shrimp, Blood Orange Duck, and Pan-roasted Sable, among others.

And don't forget, rooms here are going for only $200 during NYC's unofficial Hotel Week, which starts in only nine days!

For tequila drinkers

Pretty much any New Year's Eve bash you attend on Saturday night will have enough alcohol to keep you going strong all night. But Viktor & Spoils, located inside The Hotel On Rivington, might be the only one to offer quite so many tequila and mezcal options. The taqueria, which opened in November, is throwing open its doors for an open bar (9pm-2am), plus taco tastings, tequila and mezcal tastings, hors d'oeuvres, and of course, a champagne toast when the ball drops. Rounding out the festivities will be a performance by Spanish-born guitar-strumming duo, the Cintron Brothers. Arriba, arriba!

For music-lovers

Hard Rock Las Vegas is going back to its roots with this three-day, music-centric "Symphony of Sounds" New Years lineup. Headlining the bill will be Drake (above, Sun 1 at The Joint, 8pm, $95), Guns N' Roses (Fri 30 and Sat 31 at The Joint, 8pm, $95), and DJ Pauly D (Fri 30 at Vanity Nightclub, 11pm, $25)—and as with all the other hotel-hosted NYE parties listed here, you have plenty of options to choose from. If you're looking to go all out, you can bag an all-inclusive Drake package that includes a three-night stay, two tickets to the concert, and passes to the Vanity Nightclub afterparty ($1,799). As far as we can tell, the best offer, though, might be the Rockabout Wristband ($55), which grants you unlimited drinking from 10pm-1am at five of the hotel's many drinking establishments. Just try not to get lost!
