The remaining 'Standard Rooms' will be converted to the new look by next spring and until then are available at a discounted rate. (The hotel's website suggests these older-style rooms are ' ideal for simple visits with casual company.')
The rest of the hotel is made over and ready for action, including these slick looking cabanas. Of course, it will cost you at least $250 in food and beverage charges to secure one.
Since throwing a grand opening party during Art Basel, Shelborne has been busy establishing itself as a place to be seen in South Beach, with a new Tuesday night party and a big New Year's Eve bash on the way this weekend: out by the pool, the hotel is hosting a performance by Lauryn Hill to ring in 2012.

Those cabanas are available for rent during Hill's performance on a glass stage over the pool, and general admission includes a premium open bar from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. We hope you saved your holiday money: regular tickets start at $200 and cabanas at $4,000 for 10 people.
Ladies and gents who want to get their hair did for the big night will be able to book an appointment at the Shelborne's pop-up Pipino Hair & Beauty Cabana, which will of course be serving cocktails as well as blowouts and manicures from Thursday.
The hotel is showing no availability for NYE weekend, but rooms for the weekend of Jan. 6 start at $369 for a Premiere King or $269 for a Standard King--the non-renovated rooms. The Shelborne also charges a resort fee of $25 for two people.
