See that teensy-tiny window? That's supposedly where Copenhagen's new one-room hotel will reside.

Is it just us, or is there some kind of chiral harmony between hotel gimmicks in London and Copenhagen these days? First, we reported on locales in the respective cities promoting all-female floors, and now Copenhagen is following in the footsteps of London's soon-to-be-launched Room for London and debuting one-room lodgings of its own.

A Lilliputian 12-square-metres, Copenhagen's Central Hotel and Café will open in April of 2012 in the central Vesterbro neighborhood, reports The Copenhagen Post. With "one bed, a toilet, a shower and a sink," it's as low-pro and stripped down as you can imagine, despite its mildly aggrandizing name.

The cheeky concept came about as an adjunct to Verdens mindset kaffebar, or, The World's Smallest Coffee Bar, currently housed below the hotel. Wanting to "best make use of the [building's] first floor," the café's owners decided to make their foray into hotel development on a microscopic scale. Co-owner Lief Thingtved has a background in interior design, so you can expect an aesthete's touch sprinkled throughout the pocket-sized space.

What it lacks in size it will attempt to make up for in amenities: wine, flowers, and a free minibar are among possible guest perks, and morning breakfast will come courtesy of the café or Granola, a nearby restaurant run by the hotel's owners (and which sister site Jaunted reviewed not long ago). A night at Central will run you 1,500 Kroner per night, roughly $253.00.

Size matters? This Danish duo begs to differ.
