We Predict The Washington School House Hotel Will Soon Have a Waiting List
There's a new hotel opening in Park City later this month but with only 12 guest rooms in the middle of downtown, you can forget about booking it for the Sundance. That said, when the ski season and film festival fervor dies down a bit, the Washington School House will be a cool place to stay.
The hotel is, as its name implies, one of the last original school houses in the United States, originally built in 1889 with quarried limestone. It's even listed on the National Historic Registry. Yet approval was given for a hotel to be created within its original structure and the result is 12 shishi guestrooms with crisp white Pratesi linens on the beds, fancy antique furniture and heated bathroom floors.
The hotel promises "totally luxury" like a private ski lounge, a private chef who cooks exclusively for the guest, a heated pool, in-room massages, 42" flat screen TVs, hooded bathrobes, and the best luxury of all, free WiFi.
Of course, total luxury rooms come at a total luxury price. The tuition at this school starts at $700 a night for the winter season ($425 for summer school.) Sigh.
