Slough off dry winter skin after a day of skiing with some honeyed help

Bees, the hottest in hotel trends? The insects have been creating a lot of, ahem, buzz on the hotel news circuit, with many a locale housing beehives to make honey on-site. But they're not just being used to produce jars of sweet stuff for kitchen use: at Hotel de Charme les Airelles in the French Alps, five hives are kept as a resource for Spa Valmont for Les Airelles. And no, the little stingers aren't being used to give guests' lips an Angelina Jolie-esque fullness.

Luxury Swiss skin care line Valmont is the spa's product range of choice, and several of the label's anti-aging creations use "Alpine bee pollen, honey, royal jelly, and nectar from beehives preserved at the hotel's own 'Airelles Apiary.'" Apparently, your favourite tea sweetener can also be used to ward off wrinkles.

Striving to make pollen palatable to the bee-averse, a "Bee Beautiful" treatment is available for a limited time. The service starts with an exfoliant made of wildflower pollen and ends with a royal jelly rub down, a relaxation-inducing experience meant to leave skin glowing, and you feeling like—what else?—the Queen Bee. Surely winter time skiers will welcome sloughing of dry skin after a day circling the lifts.

You can book "Bee Beautiful" from December 14th through mid-April of 2012 for 240 euros. While it all sounds divine, the price stings a little.
