This isn't the first we've heard from LHI, who previously published an open letter to local hoteliers with the same complaints. A practice of "naming and shaming" tightwad culprits has been active for some time, with luxurious lodgings the likes of the Ritz, the Dorchester, and the Langham among those called out for their exorbitant fees, often hovering in the £20 range per day.
Rather than solely pointing fingers at guilty parties, however, the 'Touchdown' campaign will give props to the "good guys," those hotels that are doing right by guests and supplying them with access to the World Wide Web free of charge. Writers from the site have also vowed to "personally visit different London hotels and test out their free WiFi" (#OccupyLobbies?) and report back the results. Stay tuned for more on this mini-movement, and check out our own catalog of Where to Find Free Hotel WiFi in London.
