The Travel Channel's 'Hotel Fixer' Has Been Revealed!

November 29, 2011 at 11:45 AM | by | Comment (1)

Not too long ago we were all amped up about who the hell the Hotel Fixer could be for Travel Channel's new hotel reality TV show. While we got word that the show would air in the Spring of 2012 we still didn't know who this fixer man would be. But now we do.

His name is Anthony Melchiorri and the show will actually be called Hotel Impossible.

We're still freaking out over the sudden reveal of the fixer so pardon our cursory internet search on Melchiorri's hotel cred (and sorry, we're not quite sure what he looks like. We have an idea but don't want to run with it if it's wrong.)

So it looks like Melchiorri has recently started his own hospitality consulting business Argeo Hospitality after he helped develop and reposition the first Nickelodeon Hotel and Resort and the historic Algonquin Hotel (which is about to undergo a major reno.) Over the course of his career he's also worked at the Plaza Hotel, Embassy Suites, Millennium Hotels, the Lucerne Hotel and the Westin Hotel in Times Square.

Aside from hotels, Melchiorri has also had an interesting career in helping a struggling bread company, Ecce Panis, turn into one of the largest artesian bread company in the country. He's also dabbled in TV before, as a producer for the movie, Wisegal, which appeared on Lifetime.

But it is no doubt his hotel consulting business that helped win him the Hotel Impossible gig. Melchiorri himself touts his "unmatched ability to break down problems and find solutions that generate profits" on his website. Here's a description of the show's premise:

Competition is fierce in the hotel business. With the stroke of a key, one bad review on an online site like Trip Advisor can kill a business’ reputation. So what’s a struggling hotel operator to do? Hire Anthony Melchiorri, one of the most sought after hotel “fixers” in the country. His no-nonsense approach can turn any establishment around in weeks...and he plans to do just that in “Hotel Impossible.” Each episode features a hotel fighting for its life.

Now, we all know that reality TV is still a fake reality but we're excited to see how Melchiorri will turn around these struggling hotels. Gordon Ramsay, watch closely.

Got any behind the scenes scoop on Hotel Impossible? Let us know!
