Guess The Hotel With Chair Tassels

November 18, 2011 at 10:56 AM | by | Comments (2)

For this week's Guess The Hotel, we're zooming in on one design detail from a hotel that has long kept us amused. Though we (obviously) won't say the name of the hotel, we feel its over-the-top medieval textures kinda speak for themselves. Note the blue velvet shroud theatrically draped across the end of the bed.

We feel these tassels would be perfectly at home in a 13th century castle in the hills of Scotland. Its lobby continues the medieval theme with high arched doorways, a giant chandelier, and a crackling fireplace. Without a doubt, this is the place to be as the holiday season kicks into full gear.

But first, you gotta figure out where it is!

Some other hints:

· This hotel recently received some light renovations, despite only having been open for five years.

· Though having trademarked the dark and moody look (one thing addressed by the renovations was the lack of light), the rooms here are actually bursting with color. Rich, moody colors. But, colors nonetheless.

· Finally, among other scenic aspects of the hotel, half of the windows here boast quite lovely park-facing views.

Give up yet? Not so fast! If you think you have any idea where these tassels were found, just drop a name in the comments below. The name of the hotel will be announced on Monday, coinciding with a video interview with the hotel's GM.

Your prize? The satisfaction of knowing you're smarter than everyone else.

Gramercy Park?

Gramercy Park? I love those colors and carpets.

Gramercy Park

This is gramercy park hotel. Ms. Mao will give a great interview I am certain. One of the most intelligent hotel managers I have had the pleasure of meeting.
