Twenty-First Century Betty Friedans looking for female-friendly lodgings on their next trip to Copenhagen would do well to stay at the Bella Sky Comwell. The hotel's Bella Donna floor is touted as the "first women-centered" project of its kind in the hotel world, and has been curated to appeal strictly to a ladylike demographic. We think Manhattan's The Pierre could learn a thing or two from these guys.

Just how successful are they? Well, that, of course, depends on your idea of femininity.

Those of a more Sex and the City persuasion will probably be disappointed at what look like sparse, and certainly not sparkly, surroundings: a pink checked base for the bed and pink chair are the only overt touches of womanhood we can detect. Then again, it's also true to the clean lined austerity of Danish design, so perhaps something's been lost in artistic translation.

The hotel talks up ladylike amenities like ionic hairdryers, nail files, and cosmetic mirrors with magnification and LED lighting—the better to primp yourself with, dears. "Good quality chocolates" and smoothies are among minibar offerings, while Camilla Staerk accessories contribute a designer touch to slippers and bathrobes.

The floor is reserved for women only, making it a good choice for girls' getaway weekends in the oh-so cool European city. So, there's no need to shoo boys away when you start braiding one another's hair and engage in late night pillow fights.

In all seriousness, however, women travelers—solo or not—should appreciate that only hotel staff and female guests with key cards are allowed to enter the floor, providing a welcome sense of security. With a limited number of rooms, you'll have to call the hotel directly to reserve your place at this unabashedly gender biased portion of the hotel.
