Judging from two giant "FOR RENT" signs posted outside Brooklyn's Hotel Le Bleu, it would seem that the entire place was going out of business. But when we stopped in to ask the Front Desk what was going on, they told us it is in fact just the rooftop restaurant and lounge that are in the stinker, and not the actual hotel. Hmm, twice in two years? Sounds like the penthouse space at Le Bleu might be what we like to call Le Cursed.

According to a Front Desk staffer, the hotel and rooftop remain under the same ownership, but the two spaces are rented out separately. These signs simply indicate that the hotel is seeking a new tenant for the restaurant and lounge space, as the "classy" Italian restaurant which opened in Spring 2010 closed for good in August.

Of course, our first thought was: if there's no restaurant, how are the guests getting food? But Park Slope, as many of you already know, if crammed with local eateries—cute, windowed bakeries and authentic taquerias and classic burger joints—several of which, according to the Front Desk agent, are supplying the hotel with food for guests. But there is not proper dining room (or any public area, save for the ground floor lobby) as such.

Looking to open a rooftop restaurant in Brooklyn? This might be your chance. When we inquired further into the restaurant's current status, the agent replied simply, "I mean, if you want a condo, maybe you can talk to them about renting the whole space!".

Go on, what are you waiting for?
