We're still counting down until Element Miami International Airport makes the prospect of a long layover something we'd actually look forward to. But, it turns out, there are other hotels in the MIA sea, and one of them--the Regency Hotel Miami--has just completed a refurbishment. And it has a pool.

First things first, this property is not to be confused with the Hyatt Regency Miami, which is located downtown. In fact, this Regency bills itself as the only independent boutique hotel at Miami airport.

Righto, so what's it got?

Here's that pool--a new layover must, in our books.

Inside, the Regency has refreshed rooms with balconies, all with free WiFi. Also complimentary: parking, a 24-hour shuttle to the airport, another shuttle to nearby shopping centers, a business center, and coffee in the morning. Airport hotels aren't exactly known for their fine food, but we'd be willing to give the Regency's restaurant, Prieto's a go purely because the chef, Joaquín Canalda hails from Madrid. Hmm, paella...

Rooms are sold out today through next Thursday, but we found a Standard Plus King room available for next Friday night for just $101.15.
