We don't find it hard to relax in Miami--a stroll along the beach, a spell by the pool, and a stay in a room like this makes it pretty damn easy.

But during our recent stay at Soho Beach House we needed a helping hand to ditch the stress of a busy schedule and holiday travel. So we headed straight to the Cowshed Spa and booked a Head Massage.

Guests can book treatments in their room but we were curious about the spa's 'lived-in English country style', so opted for a visit to the second floor. The look is certainly posh-rustic, but like the rest of Soho Beach House, the feel is laidback. After checking in at the front desk/retail area, you take a set of spiral stairs up to the next floor where the treatment and dressing rooms are located.

Like the bath amenities in our room, the oils used for the massage come in the signature Cowshed 'moods': Grumpy Cow (uplifting); Lazy Cow (soothing); and Knackered Cow (relaxing). We went with the latter, since it was 8 p.m. and we were hoping that our treatment would send us straight off to la-la land.

Even though the massage involved some hair-pulling--which did hurt a bit but in the best way possible--it was just what we were looking for. It's only 30 minutes long but is a good choice for shaking off the day's tension or easing a stress-induced headache. And at $65, it doesn't break the bank or make you feel guilty about spoiling yourself.

If you need more than your head and shoulders pummeled into submission, regular 60-minute Cowshed massages start at $140. And while we didn't opt for one this time, we love the fact that Cowshed has a Blow Dry Bar, to combat the tropical frizzies. Blow outs start at $45, or can be added onto other treatments as well. You can peruse the full spa menu here.
