Stuck in Vegas During the NYC Blizzard, We Fell in Love With the Rumor Boutique Hotel

Looking for a pet-friendly, cool hotel room in Las Vegas? Good luck, especially if you want one that's not some gross drive-up motel and is at least somewhat near the Strip. Luckily there's one, newly-opened, that we kind of stumbled upon staying at during a recent visit to Sin City—the Rumor Boutique Hotel.

The truth is, we were stuck in Vegas for three extra nights thanks to last week's massive blizzard on the east coast, and with flights cancelled triple times over, we needed to find a reasonably priced place to crash, which preferably also included free WiFi and nice-ish rooms.

And directly across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel, there was the Rumor. We took our own advice and booked their 50% off deal, totaling $54.50 per night and we doubt we'll ever go back to staying on the Strip again.

For one, all rooms are at least mini-suites with jacuzzi tubs, awesome bathrooms, a couch in addition to a very pleasant bed, and free water bottles and WiFi. For another plus, the place is totally pet-friendly, so much so that they have a little dog park just off the pool area. Check it out...

What else did we love about this hidden jewel? Oh...the fact that their pool and hot tub are 24-hours and remain open even through winter. And maybe we're kinda in love with their restaurant, Addiction, which—despite its horribly Vegas-y douchey name—serves up some of the best affordable breakfasts, $9 burgers (pick three toppings!), and half-price tapas we'd encountered in Vegas.

We ate there for four straight meals—no lie. And no, The Rumor had no idea who we were, just as we barely could've guessed we'd end up sleeping there until we could get a flight back to New York. It ended up being our favorite part of the whole trip.

I'm sorry Strip hotels, but this HotelChatter-er just has to quit you for the Rumor. It also helps that one of our friends swears The Cosmopolitan (aka the newest hot Strip hotel in town) got design inspiration from The Rumor. Take that.

Very Intrigued...

Very intrigued about this joint... Lots of discussion and good reviews over at JackColton.com.  I remember feeling sorry for a peer who's company made him stay at that property 10 years ago because they wouldn't pay for casino properties. Now it looks like a good time!

Pet friendly? Yes, but...

Rumor is a cute boutique property thats a genuine alternative to the big Strip Resorts (though I wish it were as cool as the boutique hotels in Palm Springs).
BUT, There are in fact SEVERAL casino resorts ON THE STRIP (or nearer than Rumor) which are now pet-friendly, including at least Caesars Palace, Imperial Palace, Rio All-Suites, and I believe, Four Seasons.

Journalists, please don't believe press releases just because they say they're the "only one."

Rumor! <3 <3

I just LOVE Rumor!! The Purple! and their pool!! Its open 24-7! The food Addiction is SUPREME -- and its 50%off during Happy Hour! http://bit.ly/RumorVegas

I am assuming this the old Alexis Park?

The pics look great!  I like the company that purchased this resort (Siegel Group).  They seem to have a knack for purchasing down and out hotels and making them relevant again!  Job well done.

Not only one

I didn't say the Rumor was the only one. Yes, there are others, but we loved Rumor for their dog park and the actual grass lawn near the pool.

Re: Alexis Park. On Google Maps, it shows it's the old St. Tropez??

oh yea

Never saw a press release. All this is because we totally stumbled on the place because of their 50% off rooms deal. Then discovered the hotel like any other guest would.
