The Newly Renovated Le Méridien Tahiti Is Ready for Beach Bums

Tahiti's insanely beautiful beaches will make you want to sleep on the shore. But in case you don't want to wake up with sand in your pajamas, check out the newly renovated Le Méridien Tahiti.

The lagoon- and panoramic-view rooms and suites are decked out with contemporary neutral-colored furniture and linens, hardwood floors and bamboo accents. They also have some subtle Polynesian touches, like surfboard-shaped tables and lights made with tapa cloth.

Using the Tahitian tiare flower as inspiration, the revamped modern lobby is done up in red, black and white with Polynesian art all over the room and piped-in LM01, the hotel's signature scent. It has three new check-in stations and computers for guests. But we look forward to the lobby's soon-to-come espresso bar with lounge seating that'll offer illycaffè drinks.

Meanwhile, sister resort Le Méridien Bora Bora is wrapping up its own renovations on its public spaces and guest rooms as well. It should be ready for the unveiling by the end of the month.

If you want to avoid sleep on the beach, rooms at Le Méridien Tahiti start at XPF 20,127, or $231 a night.
