We're fans of the wallet-friendly hotel brand that targets business travelers. The contemporary rooms are nice and spacious, come with tech panels that make us geeks drool and have the oh-so-coveted free WiFi. Also, stays come with a free continental breakfast.
Usually, Hyatt Places pop up near airports and other business areas. But the Waikiki edition, the first Hyatt Place in Hawaii, will be in a resort spot. There's already a Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa in the 'hood, but there likely won't be much competition between the two since the Hyatt Place will cater to more of a budget-conscious crowd.
If you're looking forward to snag a room in the face-lifted Hyatt Place, the first round of renovations is set to be done by November.
