Waldorf Astoria's Syon Park is Now Taking Rezzies For February 22nd
The last time we checked on Waldorf Astoria's London Syon Park hotel, we learned that a Roman settlement had been unearthed on the site during construction a few years back. Despite that, the hotel promised an early 2011 opening and we remained skeptical. But guess what? The country retreat is now taking bookings for February 22nd.
Syon Park calls itself a “new English Playground” and by the sound of its amenities it looks like it’s going to be pretty spesh. As well as a butterfly house in the lobby, an ice cream sundae bar named Brownie, a private club and a martini bar, there will be a restaurant featuring “Landscape Cooking” which showcases local ingredients and herbs grown in the grounds -- all presented with a touch of theatre (whatever that means?).
But we’ll mainly be hanging out on The Deck, the rooftop lounge with a calendar of social events already planned (pictured above.)
The website calls it an “Adults playground, a place to let your hair down” and we’re all up for letting our hair down on holiday. There is also a swimming pool, spa, gym with personal trainers and oh, an in-house plastic surgeon. What? Doesn't every hotel have one of these?
The hotel has 137 rooms and suites with high speed WiFi, 37” TVs, illuminated rain showers and heated floors.
Room rates start at £369 for a King Syon Deluxe Room but the hotel is currently running an "any weekend sale" where you can save up to 50 percent throughout 2011. And with all that money you save why not charter yourself a helicopter to the helipad located on the hotel's grounds.
