The hotel was the backdrop for a number of scenes in the new Sofia Coppola flick Somewhere, starring Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning. Its bar has also been a star-sighting spot, with lovely ladies like Freida Pinto, Eva Mendes and Milla Jovovich sipping drinks there.
But the hotel has been attracting society's upper crust since its opening in 1927. The Duke of Windsor, Erich Maria Remarque (author of "All Is Quiet on the Western Front"), Charlie Chaplin, Josephine Baker, Evita Peron and Maria Callas are all on the list of past guests.
If you want to do some on-site celeb spotting, rates start at 242 euros, or about $322, a night.
