As we predicted in the run up to the London 2012 Olympics, the old hotels are going all out with their Hotel Renovations. The latest hotel to announce a full on facelift is the St Ermins Hotel Westminster.

The three-star hotel is currently closed for four-months, whilst it gets a £30 million pound refurb which will see it re-open as a luxury, four-star hotel on April 4th. Not-so-coincidentally, that's just in time for the Royal Wedding and this will actually be the closest hotel to Westminster Abbey where the wedding is taking place.

We just hope they don’t triple their rates like the other hotels.

The hotel, located in a Grade II listed building will have 331 rooms and suites - all featuring free WiFi and MP3 Docking stations, a 70-cover restaurant, courtyard garden, ballroom, gym, library and bar. The interiors will be modern whilst retaining some of the buildings original features.

Room rates start at £199 per night but when we checked the dates for the Royal Wedding, the hotel was predictably sold out.

And whilst we're telling you about London hotel renovations we may as well tell you about the new hotel which has just been announced. The Rezidor Group are planning to open a Park Inn property located in the ExCel Exhibition Centre. The 223-room hotel, most with views of the River Thames is due to open in Summer 2013 and will feature a restaurant, bar, a fitness room, meeting rooms.
