Back in November, we were intrigued by the upcoming Flatiron Hotel in NYC at Broadway and 26th Street, especially since they installed a giant fish tank.
But despite the fishes, the hotel had no opening date and a rather appalling website filled with stock photos of fake happy people doing fake happy things in NYC.
Last night, we decided to circle back with the hotel and see if there was an opening date on the books. On the website, we noticed a reservations calendar had popped up. Thus, we plugged in a date to see what came back. Instead of finding availability and room rates, we were told to email the hotel. So we did.
Except our email was returned to us a few minutes later, saying the email address was rejected. When we called the hotel today (the number is here), we reached a voicemail message that says the hotel is not open but "we are looking forward to opening in 2011."
So until then, we're just curious--who's feeding the fishes?
