Ok bad news first:45 Park Lane is now set to open in Summer 2011. But it's hard to be too sad especially when we see what they have in store.

Interior designer Thierry Despont plans to make the 45-room hotel look more like a private residence, a trend which seems to be taking off with London hotels.

Inside a grand staircase will take centre stage leading up to Bar 45, the hotel's library and a private screening room. The rooms will all have views over Hyde Park, mirrors with integrated TVs, Blu Ray players and Bang & Olufsen entertainment systems. The Penthouse will feature a large terrace with views over London, ideal for impressing the ladies.

And it looks like the outside is going to be just as impressive as the inside. The hotel has gone all green on us covering its façade with horizontal aluminum 'fins' which not only look good but also stop the sun heating the building, this reduces the power needed to run the air-con.

Sticking with the eco-friendly theme the hotel will share cables and water with its neighbour The Dorchester benefiting from the enviro-friendly equipment it uses.

To top it off, a giant sculpture will take pride of place on the hotel's roof keeping a watchful eye on the entrance. But all of this doesn’t come cheap -- prices start at £695 for a deluxe double room, including free WiFi of course.

Bookings are being taken on the hotels website now for July 1st 2011 onwards.
