Man, has it been a busy summer for hotel openings in New York. But the fact that we've seen Andaz 5th Avenue, InterContinental Times Square, Cassa Hotel, W New York Downtown, Gansevoort Park Avenue, The Chatwal and The James all open their doors doesn't mean we can take a breather from chasing all the new NYC hotels still on the horizon. Our latest addition to the hotel stalking watch list? The Charles Hotel on Broadway.

First things first: don't confuse this new teeny weeny boutique hotel with The Charles Hotel in Cambridge. This one is located just north of Union Square in Manhattan, between 19th and 20th Streets. But we have to admit, it's still a bit of a mystery.

Aside from Curbed's inital report on the construction, all we have heard about this 21-room hotel has to do with its ground-floor restaurant called Restaurant i, which is set to open today.

The hotel part of the project, owned by Charles Chong, is said to open sometime this winter. But when in winter? And with what goodies inside?

Heard anything? Send us your scoop on the Charles Hotel or drop your intel in comments below.
