In addition to checking out the Soho Grand Hotel's newly redone tech suites this week, we also picked up a curious little card in the lobby, alerting us to the fact that their GrandLife iPhone app is up and active. Even better, it's totally free over at iTunes.

To get the app, you can simply go here to download it, or, if you're on site at the hotel, just scan the code supplied on the card with your smartphone.

So what does the app have going for it? As far as we can tell, it's job is to make the concierge's job a whole lot easier. In fact, we'd go so far as to call it a DIY concierge in the palm of your hand:

Experience New York like a local with GrandLife's NYC Guide, featuring a well-edited selection of the city's best restaurants, shopping, museums & galleries, and bars & nightlife—all curated by the Soho Grand & Tribeca Grand Hotels.

Anyone with an iPhone can download and use it for free, so even if you aren't saying at the Soho or Tribeca Grand while in New York, it could serve as a handy-dandy mini-guide regardless.

Hardly their App - go to http://mconciergesystems.com/clients and you will see that this company just modifies the look for different hotels.
