The 12-floor building will have a pool and spa. It will also feature a buzzed-about Italian restaurant from the BLT Restaurant Group called The Florentine. The kitchen will be led by noted chef Todd Stein, formerly the top toque of theWit's Cibo Matto. The Florentine is scheduled to open mid-October.
With 610 rooms, the Marriott says it will be the largest luxury hotel in Chicago. Although reservations are not yet being taken, rooms are expected to cost around $259 a night.
