Times Square Gets Another New Hotel, The Pearl New York
We have to say, we're bummed about waiting until December to see the new Element Times Square West open its doors. But there is another new hotel hitting Times Square before then--it's called The Pearl New York and it's now taking reservations from October 11. Who knew?
We found out about this property via Twitter, where someone coming to NYC this fall was asking if anyone had any intel on the place. We hadn't heard of it, but it turns out that The Pearl belongs to the Empire Hotel Group, which already has a small collection of hotels in New York--including The Lucerne, The Belvedere, The Newton, The Travel Inn, The Americana Inn, The Belnord and The Lotus Hotel.
According to its website and Facebook page, The Pearl New York will have 94 rooms in a variety of configurations and eight of them have outdoor patios or balconies.
Rates will include a complimentary continental breakfast served on the hotel's second floor, but it looks like there is no restaurant per se. Being smack bam in the middle of Times Square means easy access to Restaurant Row in Hell's Kitchen, and of course any fast food chain you can stomach.
