Element Times Square West Pushed Back To December 18

It may not be the coolest thing to say but after a summer of non-stop hot hotel openings in NYC, we're starting to hanker for the simple life. Which is why we were psyched for the October 14 opening of Element New York Times Square West.

They promised a soothing environment and healthy food options--in Times Square! But alas, we won't be getting our Element on until the time of year when health is the furthest thing from our minds: the holidays.

That's right: Element Times Square is now opening on December 18.

The good news for the hotel is that December in New York is crazy busy--but don't get too excited about a new hotel-with-a-view option for New Year's Eve. The hotel has thought ahead and put a note right there on their website saying: "The hotel does not offer rooms with a view of the New Years Eve Ball drop."

Right, now we've got that out of the way, onto more practical matters. Like room rates!

Remember that thing we said about December in New York? Good. Because a King room at Element Times Square starts at $451.24 a night (including tax) on opening day, December 18. This isn't even the Best Available Rate, but an advance purchase, fully prepaid, non-changeable, non-refundable rate. Ouch.

It does include a full hot breakfast, but at that price we're thinking it should also include a medical.

They are into health, after all ...
