The Villa by Barton G Now Serving High Tea with Versace

When we typically think Hotel High Tea, we think: New York, London, Beverly Hills (and--now--Katy Perry!). But Miami? Not so much.

But it makes complete sense that the super-ritzy Villa By Barton G in introducing an afternoon tea tradition. They have the Versace china to serve it on, after all.

Yes, this is the place on Ocean Drive that will never escape being known as the Versace Mansion. The place that reopened in March as a boutique hotel with $2,100-a-night rooms.

The new Villa Afternoon Tea Service will begin on November 1, between 3 and 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The Villa Simple Tea includes teas, "Not So Simple Sandwiches", scones and sweets for $55, while The Villa Bubbly Tea gives you all of this with Champagne on top for $75.

Tea will be served--on Versace by Rosenthal Les Reves Byzantins china, exclusive to the hotel--in the Villa's Mosaic Garden. So it's a good thing this is starting in November when the South Beach weather drops back down to a tea-compliant temperature.

The hotel is claiming that this will be the first afternoon tea served on the beach, so unless she opts for The Biltmore over in Coral Gables, we expect sightings of our new tea-buddy Katy to start rolling in. Keep your eyes peeled and your pinkies raised!
