This weekend, the Venice Film Festival came to a close and the big winner was the Chateau Marmont.

Well, OK, it was director Sofia Coppola who snagged the Golden Lion for Best Film--but the real star of that film, Somewhere, is the West Hollywood celeb haunt. (Sorry, Dorffy.)

Coppola said that the award would help the film's chances once it is released in December--and we're betting that the movie will also make the Chateau's decadent allure even more irresistible.

The movie's plot, in case you haven't heard, echoes what you read about the hotel in the gossip rags: Bad-boy actor (played by Stephen Dorff) lives a soused-up life at the hotel where he summons pole dancers to his suite. But his days of debauchery are shaken up by the arrival of his 11-year-old daughter (Elle Fanning.)

The Chateau also stars in a new book by The Devil Wears Prada author Lauren Weisberger. Her tale of a young marriage tested by Hollywood success, Last Night at Chateau Marmont is currently number 13 on the New York Times Best Seller List.

Somewhere will be released on December 22. Rooms at the Chateau are available this weekend, from $480 a night.
