Yes! We’ve been waiting for a while now for citizenM to open its Glasgow property, and finally it’s here.

The citizenM Glasgow opened on Thursday and contains 198 rooms – or rather, pods – over eight floors on the corner of Hope and Renfrew Streets. It sounds pretty sexy, too – a red spiral staircase to reach the lobby, and a bar with huge windows looking out at the street below.

Don’t expect the rooms to be the same as the Amsterdam ones: the Glasgow property includes:

the integrated bathroom, a larger closet and vanity, and a built-in worktable.

But as you can see above, the rooms still aren't what you'd call, "spacious." Also the photos on the hotel's Facebook page are obviously hyping up the hotel's nifty public areas like the bar, the lobby and the hangout spaces rather than focus on the teeny tiny pod rooms. However, there are a few shots of the rooms, including an arty take of the hotel's shower which the they consider to be "heaven...after a 1,000-mile flight." Just remember that when you shower, everyone sees you.

If you're a fan on citizenM, there's more good news in store. The chain just announced two sites in London (one at Tower Hill, one on the South Bank) and two in New York – one in the Bowery and one on 50th and Broadway.

Seriously, we can’t wait. Not only do we love citizenM, but the more budget hotels we have to choose from, the less likely it is we’ll end up in hell The Jane. In the meantime, a room tonight at Glasgow will set you back £79.
