Westin Times Square and Jersey City Promise US Open Packages For Tennis Fans

The first round of the US Open kicks off on August 30 and Westin Hotels wants you to be there to catch of all the back and forth action.

The Starwood brand is the official sponsor of both the men's and women's tournament and where there is a sponsorship, there is a hotel package. However, the Westin only has two major properties in the NYC Metro area--Westin Times Square and Westin Jersey City. So your choices are a bit limited if you want your US Open experience to be Westinized.

Nevertheless, at the Westin Times Square they are offering a "Stay and Watch the Pros Play" package that includes a great rate at the hotel plus two metrocards so you can take the subway out to Arthur Ashe stadium in Queens. We couldn't get the package code SSPORT to work today but we noticed that room rates were about the same for the start of the tournament and for the finals--around $365 a night.

The Westin Jersey City is offering the same package except theirs includes complimentary valet and a $10 Metrocard per day. Again, that package wasn't working online either but rooms are considering less here at $211 a night.

If you're keen on going to the US Open but not keen on staying at a Westin, you can still save money using Starwood Preferred Guest program. Members can redeem 15,000 Starpoints for a pair of tickets to the event, along with access to the SPG VIP hospitality reception on August 31.

You can even try to win a pair of tickets to the men's singles semifinals in the SPG Luxury Suite every time you stay two nights at a Starwood from now through August 22. So um, yeah, start (mattress) running now!
