How's this for a nice little opening gift? As the Gansevoort Park Avenue prepares for its big launch this month, the hotel, along with its Meatpacking District cousin, Hotel Gansevoort, has teamed up with Porsche to give its guests a much more exciting way to get around NYC than the subway.

But—there's a catch. You'll have to wait another week before you can experience the fast-car action at the Gansevoort Park, because the hotel's opening date has been pushed back again, to August 16. From then on, guests at both of New York's Gansevoorts will be able to book a ride in a brand new 2011 Porsche Panamera 4S.

Each hotel will have its own vehicle, sadly not in a Gansevoort pink but silver (with black interior) like the one pictured here.

In-town car service is complimentary and the Porsche people brag that the car can handle those MePa cobblestones with ease.

The good news about the Gansevoort Park Ave's opening delay is that if you act fast you can still score that $275 introductory rate we told you about a couple of weeks ago. It's still available for the new big day, August 16.

Did you book a room at the Gansevoort Park Avenue for August 9th? Guests with reservations are being transferred to the original Gansevoort but let us know if you've been told something different!

Bummer!

About the hotel delay and the Porsche not being pink. I would have loved that!
