Mozart and Chopin Have a Boozy Stand Off at the Renaissance Chancery Court
The Nocturne 252. Advantage: Chopin
Who's thirsty? It's time for another installment of our Summer Cocktails series. All summer long we'll profile fun new summer drinks served at hotels around the world. Got one we should know about? Send us the recipe with a photo of the drink. Otherwise, enjoy and @reply us when you're wasted!
We’re almost halfway through Prom season in London now and even if you’re not into your classical music, we suspect you may be into your booze. If you are, Pearl restaurant and bar in the Renaissance Chancery Court hotel has done you proud by creating a “symphony” of five music-themed cocktails.
They’re not even that tenuous – each contain either chocolate Mozart liqueur or Chopin vodka – so you can show your allegiance to your preferred era by imbibing. But the drinks do sound pretty full on – the Nocturne 252, for example, has Chopin vodka, strawberry liqueur, Mozart dark chocolate liqueur and lemon juice, while the Constance (named after Mozart’s wife) blends Mozart Dry, Bombay Sapphire, Chopin vodka and Noilly Prat.
They cost between £12.75 and £14.75, and are on sale until 11 September. After a couple of them, something tells us you’ll be in the mood for some jingoistic Last Night of the Proms flag-waving.
