It's been a big year for Soho, with the arrival of Trump Soho, The James New York opening tomorrow, and Mondrian New York breaking our hearts by delaying its debut until 2011. But these aren't the only newbies in town—strolling along Varick Street last week, we noticed that the Courtyard By Marriott we heard was coming to the 'hood in 2009 might actually be ready for its big day ... one year later.

If the hotel's website is right, the new Courtyard opens in October.

If you've stayed at one of these chains, you'll know what to expect: no frills, no fuss, but free WiFi. Yay!

The Soho outpost—Marriott's calling it the Courtyard New York Manhattan/SoHo—will also be home to Table 181 SoHo, offering healthy food and Starbucks coffee in the mornings, and beer and wine with light fare in the evenings.

That free WiFi is available in every guest room but guests can also connect (and do some free printing) in the hotel's Business Library. Separate little media pods in the library are built for us hotel gadget geeks—they have flat screen TVs and power outlets for laptops and cell-phone chargers.

When we can get our hot little hands on these tech toys, however, is still unclear. While that banner on the facade says "Fall 2010" and the hotel's website says October 2010, we were unable to find any October dates available via the online rezzie system.

Heard anything? We're dying to know the room rates so drop any Courtyard Soho intel you've got into the comments below!
