Hotel Resto A-Go Go: The Latest On Celeb Chefs in NYC Hotels

It may still be August, and the city streets bare as the power players party in the Hamptons, but fall is almost upon us—NFL pre-season starts this weekend and we've already noticed some leaves turning. (Ugh!). But to cheer ourselves up about the onset of fall, we turned our minds to food, and the new hotel restaurants we can find refuge in when the temperature dips.

· The James New York

Remember when we were trying to figure out if the good people at Eater NY were right, and that the 'local celebrity chef' helming the restaurant at was indeed David Burke? It is. The hotel hasn't announced it as such, but clues emerged at the recent press preview of the hotel—David Burke-branded cookies in the swag bag, and an updated brochure that said in print, as clear as day, 'Signature restaurant by David Burke'. Here's hoping he replicates the steak-haven of David Burke's Primehouse at The James Chicago.

· Andaz 5th Avenue

Everything we've tried at the shop so far has been fresh and delish, so we are now chomping at the bit for the launch of the late-night dessert bar and the menu that will be available in the basement bar. The dessert bar will simply be what the shop becomes once dinner is done, and should launch some time this month. The bar is due in September, and we're most excited about its cheese room. (Especially if they decide to rent it out as a guest room).

· InterContinental Times Square

Hurrah, Ça Va by Todd English, the Energizer Bunny of Chefs, is now open! Gothamist has some photos of the expansive space, and we have our eye on the lounge area with the fireplace for a cool afternoon in November. The menu is full of indulgent French brasserie staples, including this marvelous sounding Saturday special: Côte de Boeuf: roasted rib of beef for two, duck fat potatoes, creamed spinach, au jus—for $43 per person.

· Eventi Hotel

Our big disappointment when we've popped into this Nowhere's Land hotel was the lack of bar or restaurant to park our butts in. That all changes in September, when Jeffrey Chodorow's FOODPARC opens. This will be a huge, multi-level bar and food hall Inspired by street food, such as burgers, dumplings, noodles, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Then, in October, the hotel gets its Bar Basque, managed by China Grill's Terry Zarikian, with Yuhi Fujinaga running the kitchen.

· The Chatwal New York

So far we've only seen renderings of Geoffrey Zakarian's Lamb's Club restaurant, but if the price of the rooms here are any indication, expect plate prices to match. Meanwhile, Zakarian is also opening another hotel restaurant, The National Bar and Dining Rooms, coming to The Benjamin Hotel in October.

There are also new restaurants on the way at the Cassa Hotel, The Nolitan, and the Gansevoort Park—and that BLT Bar & Grill is already open at the W New York Downtown—but let's save tasty details about those for another day.

After this helping of hotel restaurant news, we're full.
