Waikiki Edition to Open October 5 With a 'Debut Offer' of $195 a Night

The long-awaited creation from hoteliers Bill Marriott and Ian Schrager is just two months away! In stalking the reservations site for The Waikiki Edition today, we found that the hotel will open on October 5 and in even better news, Marriott has put together a "Debut Offer" of $195 a night for an ocean view guestroom. (Ahem, attention: Chatwal New York and your $600 opening rates.)
The hotel has also put together some introductory packages including a suite offer starting at $550 a night but really, a new hotel room in Hawaii for $195 a night PLUS free WiFi is a steal. If you're heading to Honolulu, DO IT HERE.
The catch is that you must book by September 30 but the rate is valid through February 28, 2011. You can cancel the reservation for no charge so long as you do it three days before your intended arrival date. After that, the hotel will charge you one night's fee ($195.)
The big bummer here is that the website still does not have any photos or renderings of what the rooms will look like. So you'll have to trust that those sketches shown on the site are somewhat accurate. If anything, the rooms can't possibly look any worse than the sketches, can they?
