The Top 5 NYC Hotels for Fashion Week at Lincoln Center

New York City's semiannual Fashion Week begins so soon—on September 9, to be precise, and we hope you've made your hotel reservations already to score the best rooms with lowest rates possible. If not, don't fret. To chill in lobbies with fashion editors, models and their hangers-on, just book a room at one of these Top 5 Hotel for Fashion Week at Lincoln Center:

5. The Standard: As much as we're so over The Standard, we can't deny that it will house quite a few of Fashion Week's flashiest attendees, as well as some of the more elite parties and dinners. Although it's no where near Lincoln Center, it is right next to the West Side Highway. Hop into your waiting car at The Standard's curb and be at Lincoln Center 15 minutes or less later, thanks to the straight shot up the highway. Rates here for Fashion Week are already raised; expect to pay $506 or more per night.

4. Six Columbus: All of those downtown folk who've cut their fashion week teeth the last few years by staying at the 60 Thompson or Thompson LES may seek to be closer to the uptown action this year, since Lincoln Center is further away from downtown than Bryant Park was. The Six Columbus is another Thompson Hotel, and at only 90 rooms it could be quietest of the four closest-to-Lincoln-Center hotels (the other three to follow). Perfect for those who actually have to get some work done. Fashion Week rates starting from $390 for a "pod room" and $420 for a queen superior.

3. The Hudson Hotel: This hotel may not be on top of Fashion Week like the Empire, but its two-and-a-half block distance and Philippe Starck design mean it definitely won't be left off the circuit. In lieu of a roofdeck, the Hudson will likely host events in their courtyard or in the newly-revamped lounge called Good Units. Rates for Fashion Week start at $289 for a standard double and $359 for a deluxe queen.

2. The Empire Hotel: Not only is this hotel across the street from Lincoln Center, but it also boasts a chic rooftop space just begging to host runway shows and after-parties. An alfresco lounge and pooldeck make all the difference in New York, and The Empire Hotel answers with both, plus room rates during Fashion Week from $389-$529. Hurry up and book this place, because some nights are already sold out!

1. The Mandarin Oriental: What this classic property lacks in hype, it more than makes up for in fashion clout. Thanks to the simple ads they've been running in the glossy rags for seasons, where a sophisticated famous face states that they are "a fan" of the brand (like Isabella Rossellini), they've been planting seeds in the subconscious of the hip set for a while. It's also centrally located between Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center and it has enviable views over Central Park from both the rooms and the scene-y restaurant, Asiate. The Mandarin Oriental knows they have a winner here, so expect room rates during Fashion Week from $795 per night.

I'd add the Trump International Hotel in there.... they just went through a renovation and the pics look amazing! It doesn't have the nightlife appeal but that contributes to the wear and tear of most 'hotspots' anyway.

hi

if these are top hotels then then i must say prices are very reasonable...
