Sam Nazarian Goes Boutique with His Latest Hotel, The Redbury

Back in June, Sam Nazarian, nightclub owner and the hotelier behind SLS Hotels, announced that he had scooped up the old Palihouse Hollywood property on Hollywood and Vine.

We wondered then if we would make this another SLS hotel but we ultimately concluded that the short time frame and the Starwood redtape (SLS is part of the Luxury Collection) wouldn't allow for this hotel to be branded an SLS. As it turns out, we were right.

According to Eater LA, Nazarian is taking this property "boutique", naming it The Redbury Hotel. Naturally, Eater is obsessed about the restaurant going in the hotel but their brother site Curbed is all up on the hotel details. Here's what they found out:

The hotel will have 67 rooms and the design will be influenced by "music in Hollywood" (groan) due to its location near Capitol records. However, the hotel will keep the extended stay room layout that Palihouse hoped to build so each room will have a kitchen, washer and dryer.

Nazarian also told Curbed he hopes this hotel will be more like the ACE Hotel in NYC, so does this mean we can expect not to find a seat in the lobby? Or does it mean the hotel will have a variety of venues on-site from a coffee shop to retail project to sandwich shop? We're guessing Sam will be happy with his restaurant and a lounge for now. But in the meantime, he should peruse some fun options too.

So far we haven't found a website for this hotel (it's not on SBEent.com) although the URL for www.TheRedburyHotel.com is "parked" right now by GoDaddy.com. With Nazarian's goal to get this hotel open pretty soon, we'll be watching that website carefully.
