The Hilton loves itself some airport hotels. And the company's not letting a horrible economy prevent it from opening more by-the-airport hotels: It has plans to introduce the Germany's Hilton Frankfurt Airport in February, and it opened China's Hilton Beijing Capital Airport in July.

The latest addition to the airport hotel collection is the Hilton Rosemont/Chicago O'Hare, which was unveiled July 28.

This marks the second O'Hare airport hotel for Hilton. Its Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport hotel is actually inside the airport, at Terminal 2. The Hilton Rosemont resides in nearby suburban Rosemont, minutes from Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Hilton must really adore O'Hare to give it double the love.

Hilton Hotels began its airport hotels concept with its first outpost at San Francisco International Airport in 1959 aimed at business travelers. Since then, the brand has tweaked the airport hotel model to include leisure travelers.

Although the hotel is tucked away in the 'burbs, it is linked via indoor skyway to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center and two blocks away (good for biz travelers), the Blue Line el station provides direct access to downtown Chicago (so-so for tourists, since it's still pretty far). The Rosemont hotel caters to O'Hare travelers by offering complimentary 24-hour shuttle service to all terminals. And in the rooms, you'll be protected from the noisy planes passing by with sound-resistant windows. The 299-room hotel also has a fitness center, an indoor heated pool and a casual restaurant that serves comfort food.
