Hilton Throws Animal Owners a Bone by Cutting Pet Fees to $50

Pet owners, get ready to start planning more trips with Fido. Hilton's making it cheaper for you to stay in its hotels by slashing its brand-wide pet fee from $75 to $50.

It's a pretty good per-stay rate considering what other hotels charge. Checking in with your four-legged friend at Andaz 5th Avenue or Andaz Wall Street will incur a $100 fee.

Marriott levies animal sanitation fees: $100 at Renaissance New York Hotel 57, $75 at the Residence Inn Orlando SeaWorld/International Center.

Then there are some hotels that seem like they're giving out good deals for canines, but not really. The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza asks for $35...a day. So while that's good if you are only checking in for a couple of days, a weeklong visit will cost you $245. Starwood asks for a cheap $25 pet fee. But that's in addition to the mandatory $100 cleaning surcharge.

A few hotels are suckers for man's best friend. Affinia adds a $25 pet surcharge for stays at its New York City and Chicago hotels. And those animal lovers at Kimpton let Fifi stay for free, with no special deposits or anything.

What kind of pet fees have you encountered? Let us know in the comments.
