All summer long Schmitty and the hotel's other resident Border Collie Darby are hosting "Mutt Mixers" on the outdoor deck where pets and pet parents can socialize and listen to pet experts sound off on topics from training tips to nutrition. Guests can also indulge in a Salty Dog drink--a rim-salted Greyhound with gin instead of vokda--while dogs sip on a "Doggie Brew" beer (don't fret, it's not alcoholic.)
The hotel's location right on the water overlooking Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay offers up some spectacular views for you and Fido to enjoy. However, it does come at a premium--room rates start around $400 a night in peak season which is now.
Bringing your best friend along to socialize will also cost you an extra $75 so long as he or she is under 75 pounds. Also according to BringFido.com, your room will most likely be one of the smoking rooms but on the convenient first floor. The things we do for our pets!
