The Dream South Beach Says Late 2010 But That Could Just Be a Dream

A Twitter follower of ours sent us this recent snap of The Dream South Beach and as you can see, it's a looooong ways away from opening.

Back in May, we cleared up exactly what was happening with this nightmare, er, Dream. Half of the hotel has reopened as The Palmer House South Beach with just 46 guestrooms and rather decent prices.

The other half of the hotel was set to open in October. Then the two halves would become one and be officially known as the Dream South Beach. But it doesn't look like any new work has been done on this half since we last snapped a shot of it in May.

The hotel's website is still promising that it will open soon but we learn of a more concrete date for the hotel over at Preferred Hotels--if you can consider Late 2010 concrete.

Judging from the renderings, the hotel as a finished product looks incredibly cool. But right now, we can only experience half of it inside The Palmer House. Needless to say, we'd really like this dream to come true before 2010 is out. We'll consult our dream interpretation books in the meantime.

This Post is unfair and inaccurate-

As a resident of South Beach blocks away from the Dream/Palmer, whomever wrote the post was sincerely unfair and clearly did not do their research or check their sources... the photo is unfair as it fails to show the incredible progress the building has made, the sky bridge and the huge crews working on the building daily... They also failed to mention that the soon-to-be Dream staff and management are already working hard on property as the Palmer House, and that management has been holding steady as the number 1 rated hotel on Trip Advisor for Miami Beach for at least two months already showing a hint of the service to come...

I second that motion

I actually was given a tour of the property two weeks after Palmer House opened in June and trust me... they're working HARD and what I've seen -including penthouses with private rooftops- looks INCREDIBLE. I wasn't allowed to take pictures and hook my Hotel Chatter friends up w/ photographic evidence (my tour guide knew me too well) but you -we!- won't be disappointed when it opens. No ifs here... Late 2010/Early 2011 but it IS coming! Keep The Dream alive!!!
