Can't Afford The W Downtown? Try the Holiday Inn Express Wall Street

As of today, we have a new and more affordable (but less sexy) alternative to the W New York Downtown and Andaz Wall Street---The Holiday Inn Express Wall Street New York. The 112-room hotel, part of InterContinental Hotel Group's relaunched Holiday Inn brand, is located at 124-126 Water St., just two blocks from the New York Stock Exchange.
Rooms feature 32" flat-panel HDTVs, SimplySmart™ showers, triple-sheeted bedding, desks with ergonomic chairs and that amazing free WiFi. Onsite there's also a fitness center, a full business center and the complimentary hot and cold Express Start breakfast for all guests.
So just how much more affordable is it than Andaz and the W? Rates for Holiday Inn Express on July 19-21 start at 194.65, excluding tax, for a king nonsmoking bedroom. Over at the Andaz, the hotel has rooms at $295 a night. (That rate does include WiFi and minibar snacks.) Meanwhile, The W's opening rate for August 16 remains $399 and that doesn't include WiFi. We think you know which is the better deal here.
However, you may have to take a leap of faith in booking a room here. The hotel's website only has two photos up. One is of cramped fitness center, the other is of the business center. Hmmm....
