Hyatt Regency New Orleans To Reopen At Last in Fall 2011

There's some great news for the NOLA hotel scene today: The Hyatt Regency which was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, is going to get a massive redesign and is now set to reopen in Fall 2011. The AP reports:
According to Hyatt, all 1,193 rooms and 53 suites will be renovated. A redesign calls for 200,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space, two restaurants, two bars and a coffee bar. An exact price for the renovation was not revealed, though Hyatt said it would be a multimillion dollar project.
This was and still will be the only Hyatt in New Orleans so you Gold Passport members will have a place to use/earn some points in NOLA. The hotel's location next to the Superdome will also make it a convenient option for those who come to watch The Saints play. We thinks the Hyatt might need to create a "Who Dat!" suite. Just sayin'.
