· Ace Hotel & Swim Club, Palm Springs
Drew Barrymore has been seen hanging at the cooler-than-thou Ace, which is south of downtown. The hipster hotel's 180 rooms have tentlike walls that open into patios so that you can choose to do some glamping. Or take advantage of the wifi and bike rentals, both of which are free. When the desert heat gets to you, cool off near the pool with an alcohol sno cone. Rooms start at $79.
· Colony Palms Hotel
Actor Jonathan Bennett (starring in the upcoming flick Slightly Single in L.A.) says the Moorish-style Colony Palms in Palm Springs proper is one of his favorite hotels, especially the big beds near the pool and Purple Palm restaurant. But in case you wanna break from the 56-room hotel, a former brothel and speakeasy, it's only a block away from the hubbub on Palm Canyon Drive. Rates start at $99 a night.
· Parker Palm Springs
Britney Spears has been seen checking into this contemporary hotel, designed by Jonathan Adler. Though we doubt Brit played any croquet or petanque, which are offered at the property. The 144-room resort is about 10 minutes southeast of downtown, and rooms start at $179.
· Riviera Resort
This is where Kate and Alexander shacked up when they were in town for the Coachella fest. The 406-room hotel does Hollywood glam with decor like Warhol-esque oversized photos of former guests like Marilyn Monroe and a rhinestone-encrusted "Liberace" pool table. It's at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains and five minutes from downtown. Rooms start at $139.
· Horizon Hotel
Just south of downtown Palm Springs, the midcentury-modern Horizon has 22 rooms, including a three-bedroom residence in case you wanna roll like a VIP. Back in 2007, the hotel was the backdrop of a cheesy VH1 reality show, I Love New York. Live out your own reality-TV dreams at the Horizon for $109 a night.
